Arlington County records are split among county police, the sheriff, Virginia courts, and state agencies. Why We Built This Site

Arlington has no incorporated cities or towns, yet its records still do not sit in one database. Arlington County Police Department keeps local police and arrest material. The Sheriff's Office controls detention and booking records. General District and Circuit Court clerks maintain separate case files, while the Virginia Department of State Police operates the Central Criminal Records Exchange. We built this resource to sort those custodians and explain the official access methods each one actually offers.

An official copy must come from its custodian, such as an Arlington court clerk, ACPD, ACSO, or the Virginia Department of State Police.
